Car Seats In A Nissan Rogue

Taking care of your children is an important part of your life. Ensuring they are safe and comfortable as you drive around town or across the country should also be equally important.

Our most popular vehicle is the 2024 Nissan Rogue. A perfectly-sized SUV that is made for what’s important in your life. It easily accommodates many child seats that are required to carry your younger children.

Why is this important? The South Carolina Department of Public Safety requires that "[e]very driver of a motor vehicle (passenger car, pickup truck, van, or recreational vehicle) operated on the highways and streets of this State when transporting a child under eight years of age upon the public streets and highways of the State must properly secure the child in the vehicle.”

Also, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13, and many of these deaths could be prevented with the proper use of child restraint systems or child safety seats.

Another reason to consider ensuring your younger children ride safely in your 2024 Nissan Rogue comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Their statistics show over 90% of child safety seats in the United States are installed incorrectly.  When used correctly, child safety seats are 71% effective in reducing infant fatalities, 67% effective in reducing the need for hospitalization, and 54% effective in reducing fatalities for children ages 1 to 4.

Installing your child seats should be easy in a 2024 Nissan Rogue. The rear seats have two sets of lower Latch anchors in the outboard seats under flip-up covers and an additional lower Latch anchor positioned for the middle seat. This enables parents to install a car seat in the middle seat using the Latch system by using the fifth anchor and one of the outboard seat's anchors

You will also see anchors on the back of the rear seatbacks. They are good for use with most child seats, particularly rear-facing convertible seats.

Cars.com tested car seat fitment for five types of child seats. They all received good grades – in particular, Latch-type seats, rear-facing convertible seats, and infant and booster seats.

Nissan started a program called Snug Kids in 2002 to help owners make sure their children are safe and comfortable when traveling in their vehicles. Their website also provides further tips on child seat installation on the 2024 Rogue and other Nissan models.
